There are some recipes that we turn to again and again in the run up to Christmas. Some of those in my house are Christmas Cake, Christmas Pudding and Mince Pies. Very traditional. We are now 12 days out from the big day and I am happy to present to you five recipes that I believe are must-haves this festive season.
Hope you enjoy!

Christmas Star Cookies: These beauties are pretty and festive and so damn tasty too! The white chocolate adds a snowy component but of course you could use any other chocolate if you wish. I have a full article dedicated to cookie recipes if you are keen.

Mince Pies: They wouldn’t be my favourite Christmas treat but at the same time it wouldn’t be Christmas without a batch of them in the house. Served with fresh cream, custard or ice cream, that’s your choice.
Spiced Fruit Cake: The smell of spices baking within a cake is an olfactory sensation like no other. Don’t skimp on the spices here, you real want them to sing.
Gluten-Free Sprinkles Cookies: These beauties are a festive treat for the Coeliac in your life. They are an ideal edible gift, wrapped up in parchment paper with a little ribbon or bow to tie. This recipe is the gluten-free version of the Christmas Star Cookies above.

Christmas Cake: It wouldn’t be Christmas in my house without a traditional Christmas Cake. I typically make this cake at Hallowe’en but it’s never too late. If you’re stilling considering baking a Christmas cake, go for it. You’ll not regret it for the wonderful taste and smell that is non-comparable to the shop bought alternatives.
