My relationship with green veg hasn’t been great througout my life. Thankfully, as I have gotten older (I am a quarter of a century now!), I realised that green did not equate to “disgusting”. As it so happens, one of my favourite vegetables now is spinach. It is so versatile and adds an extra dimension to so many dinner dishes. However, recently I decided to add a few leaves to a smoothie and I was pleasantly surprised. Here I present to you, my Kiwi and Spinach Smoothie.
Don’t be afraid of adding vegetables to your smoothies. It is not as daunting as it may seem. If you currently only put fruit in your smoothies, why not start by swapping half a piece of fruit from some vegetables and gradually go from there. You’ll surprise yourself with what your tastebuds will enjoy.

A handful of spinach
1 ripe banana
200ml milk of choice
Ice cubes, optional
Put all the ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth and thick.
